9 Night Botswana & Namibia Lodge-based Self-drive (Mub-Vfa)

Combine the Okavango Delta in Botswana and Zambezi region of Namibia in this short 10 day trip starting in Maun and ending in Victoria Falls.

The trip begins with 3 nights at Mopiri Camp exploring the waterways of the Delta. From there make your way to Bwabwata National Park spending 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis at Nambwa Tented Lodge. The penultimate night is at Pangolin Chobe Hotel along the Chobe Riverfront with the final night in Victoria Falls.

Day 1 – 3

Fly into Maun where you pick up your vehicle before heading north to Etsha 6 where you leave the vehicle and transfer by road to Mopiri Camp on the Weboro Lagoon. Mopiri is a beautiful, intimate camp attractively set under leafy palms and African Ebony trees to blend naturally with its surroundings. Accommodation is in unique meru-style tents with en-suite bathrooms, set on raised platforms overlooking the lagoon.

Day 4

Drive north to the western Caprivi, spending the next night at Shametu River Lodge overlooking the Popa Falls. The chalets are built on the banks of the Okavango River offering a view of the Popa Falls.

Day 5 – 6

Your next destination is Nambwa Tented Lodge in Namibia’s Zambezi Region, situated on a riverine floodplain island along the banks of the Kwando River, on a private concession within the Bwabwata National Park. Each one of the tented rooms is built on a platform with its own private raised viewing deck, with en-suite spacious bathroom facilities.

Day 7

Spend the next night at Chobe River Camp, by the Chobe river just across from the Chobe National Park on the Namibian side. The Chobe riverfront is very good for game viewing. Game is best sighted early mornings and late evenings when it is cooler.

Day 8

Drive to Kasane where you return the vehicle. Accommodation is at Pangolin Chobe Hotel on a fully inclusive basis. Specialist photographic activities are included – either a game drive or river cruise along the Chobe Riverfront. The river cruise is a highlight of many a visitor’s trip to Botswana and Pangolin offer by far the best river cruise option.

Day 9

Transfer across the border to Victoria Falls, spending the final night at Batonka Guest Lodge, situated in a quiet residential area 1km from the town centre. The Zimbabwean side has approximately 2/3 of the fall’s frontage and the falls are easily viewed on foot.
