Spend 2 weeks exploring some of the best wildlife destinations in northern Botswana. This itinerary includes a mixture of habitats and landscapes offering you the opportunity to see a wide variety of animals and birds. Spend the first two nights along the Chobe Riverfront before you fly to Lagoon Camp in the private Kwando concession for 3 nights. Head south to Splash Camp for 3 nights and explore the waterways of the Okavango Delta. Fly to the more arid areas of Botswana exploring the desert landscapes of Tau Pan and Nxai Pan before you head back to Maun for your final night.

Days 1 – 2

Fly into Kasane where you spend the first two nights at Jackalberry Chobe on the banks of the Chobe River. Accommodation is in a river view room on a full board basis with guided activities included. Explore the best of Chobe National Park on game drives and boat cruises, with elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, giraffe and zebra being just a sample of the wildlife you may encounter.

Days 3 – 5

Transfer by light aircraft to Lagoon Camp located on the banks of the wild Kwando River, overlooking the Mudumu National Park in Namibia.

Lagoon has a reputation for big game with large herds of elephant and buffalo, as well as predators. The Lagoon wild dog pack regularly den close to the camp and the excellent viewing opportunities have led to Lagoon’s reputation as the best place to see wild dog in Botswana.

Days 6 – 8

Transfer by light aircraft to Splash Camp in the Okavango Delta. Splash is located in the Kwara private concession in a remote northern part of the delta. The camp fronts onto a huge floodplain, adjacent to the permanent water of the delta and is backed by extensive bush. Activities include mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips, boat excursions to the nearby Godikwe heronries, and game drives in the concession (including night drives).

Days 9 – 11

Fly to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve – one of the world’s largest reserves, at nearly 53,000km2. Accommodation for the next three nights is at Tau Pan Camp in the northern part of the reserve. Tau Pan is a medium sized grassy pan with camelthorn tree islands.

Days 12 – 13

Transfer by light aircraft to Nxai Pan Camp in Nxai Pan National Park. Nxai Pan features large expanses of grassland interspersed with camel and umbrella thorn tree islands – a very attractive setting. A visit to Nxai gives you the opportunity of seeing Gemsbok, springbok, hartebeest and giraffe and lion are frequently seen.

Day 14

Fly back to Maun spending the final night at Thamalakane River Lodge before your flight out the following day.
