Matamba offers a unique camping experience with three exclusive upmarket bush campsites, for the discerning bush lover.
- Mara’s Camp situated in the middle of the farm is a private camp for one party only. The campsite is unfenced and wonderfully wild with birds flitting around in the trees and curious game wandering in and around it. Built to be eco-friendly, all natural materials have been used so it blends in perfectly with the surrounding woodland.
- Tau Camp spread over four hectares has five individual campsites. Drongo, Hornbill, Kingfisher, Francolin and Oriole. The campsites and the facilities are connected by little paths winding through the woodland. All sites are 150 to 200 metres apart so are very private. Each site can accommodate either a couple or several families from the same group.
- Weaver’s Camp is a secluded campsite surrounded by large Wild Seringa and Bush Willow trees, it’s been specifically set up for overnight guests. Like all of the sites, it has no fences so blends beautifully into the surrounding bush. Matamba’s wildlife are constantly in and around the site, creating the perfect camping experience.
All of the camps have rustic, but superb facilities, they are unfenced allowing the game to wander freely through. Wake up to find a herd of Eland or Sable grazing between your tent and the bathroom, or watch the Giraffe amble past while sipping sundowners.
