The lodge, nestled in the rocky Aus Mountains, is famed for its extensive and lovely vistas, best seen from one of the mountain bike or hiking trails, a viewpoint above the Klein-Aus Vista campsite.

Desert Horse Campsite at Klein-Aus Vista is a a hideaway that evokes the feeling of wilderness although only a 2 kilometer-drive from Desert Horse Inn. The sites are positioned under giant camelthorn trees, some adorned with sociable weaver nests.

Each of the sites is equipped with a water tap, table with benches, fireplace with grid and windshelter There are clean and neat ablution facilities to service the 10 sites with gas heated showers and flush toilets. Note there are no power point outlets.
