Goo‐Moremi Gorge near Palapye in Botswana is a highly sensitive area with the Batswapong community who associate it with significant cultural and spiritual beliefs.The Gorge hosts breeding sites for various bird species, including the endangered Cape Vultures, and forms a unique vegetative habitat, which is spectacular to explore on foot with one of our National Museum Guides.
Situated within the Tswapong Hills in the Central District of Botswana, accommodation at Goo-Moremi Gorge is provided in 6 comfortable, fully-equipped thatched self-catering chalets with either 1 or 2 bedrooms. The chalets have self-contained kitchenettes, en suite bathrooms and an outdoor shower. Each chalet has its own patio with a gas braai and spectacular views can be seen from the patio and bedrooms.
In addition to the self-catering chalets, Goo-Moremi Gorge also has 5 large, shady campsites. Each campsite has own bathroom facilities, wash-up area and a braai (barbeque area). The hills within Goo-Moremi Gorge are frequented by such species as leopard, hyena, kudu, bushbuck and porcupine. The cliffs above the Gorge provide shelter for baboons, rock rabbits and dassies.
